A: The base diameter at the hood is approximately 2 9/16 diameter.

Q: I'm assuming these replace the two under hood bumpers. so that means that I'd need to drill a hole through the hood the size of the under post of the poly part? does anyone know what size that is or have any recs on how to do that?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - June 30, 2016

A: The pins do replace the hood bumpers. The hole in the hood is easily drilled with a vari-bit, (stepped drill bit). The hole is larger than the pin, approx. 1 1/8.

Q: Does ThisReplace The Need For Th Hood Latch support

1 Answer

Answered by 8578 - November 7, 2013

A: Hood pins are typically use instead of the hood latch. They could also be used in conjunction with the hood latch. Our personal preference is to use just the hood pins.

Was looking for a quality kit, came across these. Love em had to make longer pins to fit my 63 nova but it was worth it no more scratches on the pin plates or squeaks when opening or closing. Thanks guys!!!

They worked great for 15 years on a fiberglass hood no cracks around bushing. Urathane finally fell apart after 15 years. Well worth the money.

These hoods pins are simply the best available on the market. I've restored seven Classic Broncos from the frame up, and every one of them has had these hood pins installed. I simply wouldn't consider any other option.

The hood pins install easily, but urethane burns out in the hot sun. Had to replace after about 2 years. ### Thanks for the review Butch. We have never heard of the urethane burning out. We have some rigs here that have ran the same urethane for many years. Those rigs are kept inside so that could be the difference. We will make a part number for the urethane only so you can just replace that part.
