Asked by Gene Miller, January 1, 2021
Q: I have a 74 chevy dana 44 front axle with rcv's and was wondering if these would fit and would the rcv slide through the center hole? I don't mind converting everything to ford from the knuckle out as long as the rcv slides out the center hole, Chevy knuckles don't allow this and its a pain to service my carrier with my current setup
Thanks for your time

A: Yes, these knuckles do allow for RCV's to slide through assembled, but, the spindle and brake requirements are different, and the steering arms come out towards the wheels. So, you need complete Ford or aftermarket brakes and spindles, and wheel clearance and tie rod connection is different.

Q: Will these knuckles fit a Dana 44 IFS from late 80 through early 90's? I actually own a 93 Ranger 4x4 with Dana 35, but have read about the advantages of converting to 44 knuckles and outer stub shafts for the improved wheel bearing spacing and axle strength. I like the appearance of your product and was very curious about their interchangability with a stock Dana 44 IFS knuckle? A second question, can the top ball joint boss be milled to accept a standard Dana 35 upper balljoint.

A: This particular set of knuckles fits standard early to late 70s Fords with Ford disc brake 1/2 ton stuff. Year range approximately 71-79. Not designed for the IFS years.
