Q: Do i have to tear the transmission apart to put that seal in? Or can I just take that nut off and pull the old seal out and put in the new seal?

A: Normally the assembly has to come apart, some outside, some inside, to replace the seal. You may find a good video on the process on YouTube.

This is not the seal for the end of the kick down shaft, that is a Napa ATP 12069. This is the seal for the selector shaft. The description is kind of confusing. Oh well, I'm sure I'll need it one of these days.
