Asked by Rodney Pesson, June 13, 2023

Q: Will this radiator out perform the Ron Davis aluminum? My Bronco is running 200 to 210 on hot Louisiana days with the Ron Davis & aluminum water pump. Airflow doesn't seem to be the problem.

1 Answer

Answered by sales - June 19, 2023

A: We generally prefer the aluminum radiators for their heat transfer ability. The Tri-pass radiator should perform close to equal, and we would not expect it to better or worse by much. We do usually look at air flow and like to use electric fans when possible.

Asked by David Franko, June 27, 2022

Q: Does this radiator need wider mount or will the stock mounts work? I see it doesn't have the trans cooler, so which aftermarket trans cooler would you suggest?
Thanks Dave

1 Answer

Answered by sales - June 30, 2022

A: This radiator does fit in the stock radiator mounts, 3 row. It does not have a trans cooler due to the Tri-Pass. Cooler #5057 has been a popular choice.

Asked by Robert, October 24, 2016

Q: Can the radiator be built with reversed inlet and outlet connections? I have a 351w with the explorer front serptine setup.

1 Answer

Answered by sales - October 24, 2016

A: Unfortunately no. We are only able to offer the aluminum radiators in a reverse flow.

Pros: I wanted to keep a somewhat stock looking engine bay and this radiator looks the part. It fits snuggly in the existing brackets and was "plug n play". There was an initial rub of the fan on the shroud, but a little adjustment and it was fine. Cons: Minor damage to the return collar, but that was easily remedied with and exhaust pipe expander. Adding 20% for shipping is always tough but just build that into the budget

After my old 4 core started leaking, I needed a good replacement as it had performed well for years. This radiator is well built, and cools as good as the old, if not better. sits in 100 degree traffic with no issues.

Installed, filled with coolant, took straight to trails and ran 2 days straight of rock trails on 80 degree days at low speed varying rpms and ran between 180-200.

Great service and fast shipping. Radiator sustained minor damage on shipping but Wild Horses made it right. Excellent customer service.

Got this radiator recently. Fit and finish was flawless. Small bend in the neck flange where the cap goes on, but it tapped right into place with the handle of a screwdriver. Runs nice and consistent temps. Stays right around 190/195 with a 195 t stat installed.

The Wild Horses radiator fits like the stock one and works great. It made a huge difference in the (bored .060" over) 289 ci that was running too hot for my 66 bronco.

This radiator is legit! Its stock size so you don't need to upgrade brackets and it performs great. Temps have run between 120-180 where my old one would run from 180-210. The weather in my area can be in the mid 90's and my bronco runs as cool as it looks :)

If the rest of ur cooling system is tuned up this is a great radiator. i have seen up to 60 degrees temp difference from inflow area to the outflow area. Im no expert but with the rest of my new cooling parts my bronco runs cool!

Got the four core triple flow as well as the shroud. Dropped right in without issue. The metal shroud I think is 16 gage but it seems stronger..waaaay better than the plastic crap that was broken off in a couple of dangerous to the hand-fan areas.
