Full description

It's completely bolt-in (welding is optional), and can be shipped UPS for a big savings on freight. So now you're thinking: how is it possible to ship that thing via UPS? That's where modern manufacturing technology comes into play.

The WH San Felipe Bar has the classic look and comes in bare steel. It's completely bolt-in (welding is optional). We've taken the 2" .120 wall HREW tubing and swedged one side of the main hoop. This swedged section fits like a glove right into the other side of the bar. We provide a special nut and bolt to hold the two sections together. Our San Felipe Tube Bar ships in 4 pieces instead of the traditional 3. This saves WH customers a lot in freight. The San Felipe tube bar fits under the stock full hard top. Check out our Weld-in Cage Kit and custom Headbanger pads as options for your WH San Felipe Bar. **Will not fit in a 1/2 Cab or Bronco with a Bulkhead.**

Q: Will this fit a 1974 Scout II?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - May 18, 2020

A: It is only designed for the 66-77 Bronco. You may be able to make it work, but, we do not know what it might take, or if it is close at all. You may be better off with a roll bar for a Scout, or starting from scratch with a fabricator.

Asked by SCal, May 4, 2020

Q: Hello, I have been looking for a roll bar for my 1972 Blazer. A search I did brought me here. I know you are Bronco dealers, but just wondering if you knew the specs and if it would fit in a 72 K5 Blazer? Thanks. I appreciate any help you can give on the fitment.

1 Answer

Answered by sales - May 4, 2020

A: The early 66-77 Bronco is a bit smaller than a K5. You may be able to adapt it, but would be better with something designed for your Blazer.

thanks

1 Answer

Pro: Everything fit. Welds are nice. Timely shipping. Easy to order. Con: Side tabs were welded on crooked, not in line with bed, had to bend them (not too difficult). Missing all 5/16" nuts, all 1/2" nuts and 2 3/8" nuts, though I welded so did not need 1/2" nuts. Shipping is expensive and by the time you are done with the cleaning and painting you are in to it for quite a bit. Advice: The instructions indicate to locate back pieces where you want them. Given the fuel line sheet metal on the drivers side rear, there seems to be only one location if you want the back braces in line with the rig. This leaves a large gap between the roll bar plate and the tail gate frame (normal). Instead of washers provided, use a 1/8x1x3 piece of bar stock with holes drilled in it. I found that on my rig one side had a bigger gap than the other (Ford issue) so needed two spacers on one side. The washers wont fit where the bed rolls over to the tail gate frame. IMO the kit should come with these spacers as there appears no other location to install the roll bar. If your going to paint it you will spend a lot of time cleaning it. Machine oil and rolling slag. Oddly, the swagged tube was bright steel and required little cleaning. Would have been nice if all four pieces where like that. The other three pieces required lots of sanding and cleaning to get rolling slag off. I welded mine together then sanded cleaned and painted it with black Rustolium hammered metal paint. This gives it a nice finished look.

The roll bar itself is of great quality. Very sturdy. No complaints there. However, the hardware was an issue. The special bolt w/ allen wrench was missing from the packet. I called and they are mailing one to me. Also, there are six large washers that are installed on the underside of the truck. The bolt holes are too close together for the large washers to work without overlapping. I had to hacksaw four of the washers to make them work. I can see where the larger washers are necessary. However, it would be nice if four of the washers were flat on one side so that the customer would not have to field cut.

I received this roll bar and have no issues with the bar itself. However the center bolt that attaches the main hoop was incorrectly drilled. The hole didn't align correctly for the bolt requiring the hole on one side to be elongated for each side of the two piece connecting bolt to align. After modification so that the bolt would connect, we found that that the plates that bolt into the bed were 4-5 inches off alignment, indicating that the original hole had been drilled with the hoop twisted somewhat. We will have to drill a completely new hole in the center with the hoop properly aligned to make the roll bar work correctly. Wild Horses customer service was very accommodating with the issue.

The San Felipe Tube Bar along with three point seat belts that installed two years ago did their job and saved three teenage boys that where hit causing them to roll my 1975 Bronco twice ending up on the roof . I will be purchasing the same bar but with the upgrade for the six point for added protection.
