Why are Wild Horses' Leaf Springs the best for your 66-77 Ford Bronco?
After years of driving, crawling and basically abusing our Broncos, we decided to take that experience back to the drawing board to see if we could improve on our already great early Bronco leaf springs. The result was two new features being added to our rear leaf springs that you won't find elsewhere. First, we added a new strategically placed triple keeper system to help control axle wrap. This dramatically improved the longevity of our springs in even the most abusive environments. Next, we added galvanized steel liners between each leaf. This creates separation between leafs for less friction, smoother ride quality and longer spring life.
Eight features that make Wild Horses' Early Bronco Leaf Springs the best on the market.
- Double Wrapped Front Spring Eye - Improves safety.
- Teflon Spring Tip Inserts - For smooth & quiet operation.
- Triple Front Spring Keepers - Anti-wrap protection.
- Galvanized Steel Liners - Reduced friction, smoother ride & longer spring life
- HD 7/16" Center Bolts - Holds up better when off-roading than stock 3/8" bolts.
- Berlin Rear Eye - For added strength.
- Progressive Spring Design - For smooth road feel & unsurpassed travel.
- Shot Peened Individual Springs - For extended spring life.

How is it that 11-pack or 10-pack leaf springs ride better than 5-pack or 6-pack leafs?
The number of leafs in a spring pack is not the biggest determining factor for ride quality. What matters most, is the spring design. Wild Horses leaf springs are a progressive design. This means under typical driving conditions, you're riding on the softer part of the spring. As the spring compresses under heavier use, the shorter and firmer leafs are engaged. Another reason our springs provide great flex off-road and comfortable handling on the street is because there's no overload spring to get in the way of the spring flexing. In a stock leaf spring, the softer leafs can bend over the end of the overload spring, stiffening the ride and causing damage to the springs.
What lift height will work best for my rear Bronco leaf springs? Ultimately it comes down to preference, but here are some guidelines: Before you pick out a set of rear springs, consider how you are going to use your Bronco. If you know you are going to load the rear heavy with tires, gas cans, tool boxes, spare parts, etc. and you like rock crawling, you may want to purchase a slightly higher lift amount for the rear. An example would be to use 2.5 inch coils with 3.5 inch rear leafs. Keep in mind that our leaf springs are designed so you can install additional leafs or remove leafs if your needs change and you want to increase or decrease the load capacity or ride height.
