Early Bronco Highlander Fiberglass Hood | 66-77 Bronco
Upgrade your Bronco with the Highlander Fiberglass Hood, featuring classic body lines with a 3" raised front that slopes to 1" at the rear for a sleek, functional look. This deluxe hood allows you to use your original hood latching hardware from your stock hood. These hoods have a built in support structure on the underside to add rigidity and strength.
-
Deluxe Support Structure – Built-in support adds rigidity and allows use of stock hood latching hardware.
-
Rolled & Finished Front Lip – Two-piece mold design ensures a clean, professional finish.
-
Prepped for Hood Pins – Flat spot in the support structure makes hood pin installation easy.
-
Easy Installation – Use your stock hinges or upgrade to our stainless steel hinges.
-
White Gel Coat Finish – Ready for prep and paint (not pre-painted).
You will need to either reuse your old hood hinges or our new stainless steel hinges to mount the hood to the cowl. We always recommend the use of hood pins, especially considering how many calls we get about hoods popping open on the freeway and smashing over the top of the Bronco.
Important Note: All fiberglass hoods come with a white gel coat. They do not come painted.

Asked by Craig Taylor, November 1, 2022
Q: Will this hood clear a 351W with EFI and stock body lift?
Answered by ☆ sales - November 1, 2022
A: We would not expect any clearance issues. The Highlander offers about 3 in the front and then slopes down to a 1 rise on the rear. The 351W is about 1 taller than the normal 302.
Asked by Brian Lords, March 8, 2021
Q: I recently installed my fresh 302 engine in my 73 Bronco. I put the GM HEI distributor on... Noticed it will hit the hood, is this good going to clear it?
Answered by ☆ sales - March 8, 2021
A: It should clear, BUT, we can't say for sure. The Highlander is close to 3 taller than stock at the front of the scoop.
Asked by Rick, June 5, 2020
Q: Will this hood give enough room for a pro flo 4 on a 302 engine.
Answered by ☆ sales - June 8, 2020
A: We would not expect any issue. With a raise of about 3 in the front and then down to a 1 rise on the rear.It is about 2 taller than stock over the air cleaner. Keep the air cleaner height as modest, low profile, as possible.
Asked by Richard, August 28, 2016
Q: Hey, will this hood still allow my windshield to fold down and lay flush on the hood? Or does it stick up too high?
Want to place an order for this asap! Thanks
Answered by ☆ sales - August 29, 2016
A: Really only the stock hood allows for the windshield to be folded down. Also with the weight of the windshield, frame, and wiper assembly, we would not recommend it.
Asked by JOHN, August 26, 2015
Q: Do I need to use the original yachting hardware for the highlander hood or could I just use hood pins?
Answered by ☆ sales - August 26, 2015
A: We do recommend using hood pins over the original latch system.
