Q: I have a stock1966 Bronco with a 289. Do I need a proportioning valve for front disk conversion?
Answered by ☆ sales - December 15, 2023
A: We would recommend a disc/drum or adjustable proportioning valve. It is not required, but does help with the front to rear brake bias.

Q: I have a set of Western Turbine 15 wheels, will these clear the calipers on the conversion kit?

A: Usually yes. We are not immediately aware of any issue. We expect no trouble, but do not see, and have not seen or fit every wheel, so we are surprised from time to time.

Q: I'm running the 3005netw on a 71 Bronco. scraping noise developed on drivers side when applying brakes yesterday. Pulled wheel and found that both caliper pins ( long pin with threads near hex nut that run from one side of caliper to other) were missing. Is it possible to purchase these individually? Thanks!
Answered by ☆ sales - March 8, 2021
A: We do not keep them, but they should be easy to find locally. Possibly the HELP section. It is a GM caliper pin, like ~Dorman Brake Caliper Bolt/Guide Pin 13897, or similar.
Asked by Jason, February 28, 2021
Q: Do you know if this kit will fit under 15 inch aluminum wheels? I see they should fit steel, but no mention of aluminum. Thank you.
Answered by ☆ sales - March 1, 2021
A: Normally aluminum wheels will have more clearance than the stock steel wheels. Should not be a problem.
Asked by john, March 3, 2020
Q: If I go with the front disk brake kit now and add the power brake booster later, does it involve any extra work by not doing it at the same time?
Answered by ☆ sales - March 3, 2020
A: You will need to bleed the brakes again. We see incremental upgrades all the time, especially front discs first, and power brakes down the road.
Asked by Caleb, February 18, 2020

Asked by Nick, April 25, 2019
Q: Do any of the kits allow using original lockout hubs for front disc brake conversion? Trying to keep the original look.
Answered by ☆ sales - April 25, 2019
A: If you have original axles, with a tapped hole in the end, you can run the stock locking hubs with the bolts and washers included in this kit. Otherwise, the Wilwood kits re-use the stock drum hubs and spindles, so you could use the stock locking hubs with those as well.
Asked by joey, June 16, 2016
Q: I have a 1975 f100 4x4 with a DANA 44 drum brake, open knuckle high pinion . Will this kit work for my application?
Answered by ☆ sales - June 20, 2016
A: Our kit uses a 6 bolt spindle like the Bronco Dana 30 and Dana 44. As long as your F100 uses the Dana 6 bolt spindle, everything else should bolt up just fine.
Asked by Dan, January 8, 2016
Q: Why supply new spindles? I'm guessing they have smaller O.D. to fit inside the caliper bracket. If that's the case, can I machine my stock 6 bolt spindles to fit?
Answered by ☆ sales - January 8, 2016
A: The new GM spindle is used to put the rotor in the correct position for the calipers to work properly.
Asked by Kade, October 4, 2015
