Our Ford AODE & 4R70W / 4R75W adapter to the Bronco Dana 20 is 6.00" in length. The adapter material is 356 T-6 heat treated aluminum alloy, and the adapter has a provision to retain the original early Bronco mount. The adapter kit includes an adapter housing, new output shaft, spud shaft, retainer, bearing, snap ring, gasket, seal, o-ring, fastening hardware and adapter instructions.
The adapter assembly will fit any 1966-77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer case. T-style transfer case shifter linkage is required.

Q: I have a 4R70W from a 2000 Explorer, which adapter kit should I order to mate to my D20?

A: This 8330 kit would be the appropriate kit for your 2000 4R70W.

Q: I have a J pattern dana 20 that has been converted to twin stick, the description says only works with T pattern transfer cases. Will this work with my twin set up or is there another adapter?

A: This kit does work with the J shift Dana 20, but does require switching to twin sticks. The stock T shift handle can be modified to work, but not the stock J shifter. The twin sticks for this kit is #8323, available in J or T style. The 8323 twin sticks are specific to this swap.

Q: Looking at this adapter for the 4R70W and also the adapter for the 6R80. Do these adapters install form the outside of the trans or do you have to gut the trans and install the from the inside?

A: Depending on your Donor transmission and choice. The 6R80 adapter is for the 4 wheel drive transmission only. There are 4R70 kits for either the 2wd trans where you do need to go in, or 4wd, adapted from outside. Transmissions from 4 wheel drive donors are easiest to adapt to the Early Bronco.

A: This does not convert a 2wd trans to 4wd. This kit is used to adapt either the 2wd or 4wd transmission to the Bronco Dana 20 transfer case.
