Full description
Early Bronco 3.5-Inch Long Travel Suspension Lift Kit
Includes Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks
Elevate your 66-77 Ford Bronco's off-road performance and street handling with our 3.5-Inch Suspension Lift Kit featuring Bilstein Shocks. This comprehensive lift kit includes everything you need for great articulation and a smoother ride, whether you're tackling rugged trails or cruising the streets.
Lift Kit Includes:
- Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks with Boots: This lift is designed to mount one shock per corner, offering superior damping for both off-road and on-road use. The Bilstein 5100 series shock is for good reason the most popular shock around for early Bronco lifts.
-
WILD HORSES All-Terrain 3.5-inch Front Coils: Available in black, red, blue, or silver to match your Bronco’s style. The WH All-Terrain coils springs offer the perfect blend of soft ride and steady support so you can tackle any terrain.
-
14-Piece Front End Bushing Kit: Ensures tight, responsive steering and suspension. This kit includes degreed C-Bushings that ensure the proper caster correction needed when lifting your early Bronco.
-
Long Travel Shock Towers: These weld-on front shock towers allow for the installation of longer travel shocks, ensuring maximum suspension articulation.
-
WILD HORSES 11-Pack 3.5-inch Rear Leaf Springs: Custom made for the classic Bronco, WH Leaf Springs provides a smoother ride with better load handling when compared to the alternatives.
-
Rear Spring and Shackle Bushing Kit: Ensures your spring shackles and new leaf springs are mounted securely to enhance the stability of your ride.
-
Rear Inboard Shock Hoop: This weld-in shock hoop spans the inside of the frame rails, and provides multiple shock mount options. This mounting system allows for longer travel as compared to using the stock rear shock mounts.
-
U-Bolts: Strong and reliable, designed to keep your suspension solid. U-bolts stretch and become weaker over time, so we always recommend installing new u-bolts any time you are putting in a new set of rear leaf springs.
RECOMMENDED UPGRADE OPTION:
-
Extreme Duty U-Bolt Kit: Upgrade to our Extreme Duty U-Bolt Kit. This kit is highly recommended for serious off-roaders and rock crawlers, providing added strength and durability over stock U-bolts.
Take your Bronco's performance to the next level with our 3.5-Inch Suspension Lift Kit with Bilstein Shocks. Whether you're an off-road enthusiast or just want a smoother ride on the street, this kit provides the perfect balance of capability and comfort. Order yours today and experience the difference!
Mind Your Caster Angle
The caster angle refers to the tilt of the king pins (on Dana 30 axles) or ball joints (on Dana 44 axles) in relation to a vertical line through the center of the front end. It’s measured in degrees, where backward tilt is considered positive caster, and forward tilt is negative.
Caster Correction for Lifts Over 3.5"
After years of building Early Broncos, we’ve noticed a common issue: incorrect caster is responsible for wandering in about 90% of cases. The factory caster specification for Broncos is +4 to +9 degrees. However, when you lift your Bronco, the caster angle tends to shift in the negative direction, leading to instability. Properly installed degreed C-bushings can correct this, but for lifts over 3.5", additional correction is often needed.
For Broncos with a 4.5" lift, around 50% will require more caster correction than what a standard 7-degree C-bushing can provide. For those with a 5.5" lift, even more adjustment is typically necessary. Here are the three most common methods to address this:
-
Radius Arm Drop Brackets: These lower the mounting point of the radius arms, correcting caster but at the cost of reduced ground clearance.
-
Long Radius Arms: The most popular solution for taller lifts, these arms help maintain ground clearance, increase off-road articulation, and improve handling.
-
Bending the Stock Radius Arms: An old-school approach that predates degreed C-bushings, bending the stock arms was a common method to achieve proper caster on lifted Broncos.
If you're planning a lift over 3.5", be sure to consider how you'll correct your caster angle to maintain proper handling and stability.

Q: IM INTERESTED IN THIS KIT, BUT WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE SHOCKS TO FOX 2.5 OR BLISTEIN W RESERVOIR
POSSIBLE?
Answered by ☆ sales - November 2, 2020
A: We can swap the fronts for the Bilstein Bil88131 shocks, and the rears to the Bil88135, but do not currently offer Fox. We could also do the kit without shocks as well. Some will run reservoir shock in the front only.

Q: Bought this kit a couple weeks ago, two different part # on shocks, not sure which are front and rear?
Answered by ☆ sales - April 3, 2020
A: The Bil88116's are used in the rear, with this 3.5 kit. The Bil88118's are for the front.
