What Does a Sway Bar Do?

A sway bar, also known as an anti-roll bar or stabilizer bar, is a component of a vehicle's suspension system. Its primary job is to reduce body roll when you're cornering or going over uneven surfaces. Here's how it works:

When your vehicle takes a turn, the weight shifts to one side, causing the body to lean or "roll" in that direction. The sway bar connects the left and right sides of the suspension and resists this roll by distributing the force more evenly across both sides of the vehicle. This keeps your ride more level and improves handling, making your driving experience safer and more comfortable.

In off-roading, quick disconnects are preferable on a sway bar so that your suspension can flex more freely, giving you better articulation over rough terrain.
