Asked by Jim, January 11, 2023
Q: Is the skid plate also stainless, or will it require painting to prevent rust?
Answered by ☆ sales - January 11, 2023
A: The skid plate is mild steel, not stainless. We would recommend painting or powder coating the skid plate to protect it from rust.
Asked by Jamie Myers, May 17, 2022
Q: What is the PSI and GPH the pump for this tank puts out? It will be used with the Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI for a 351W which requires a high pressure fuel system providing 43-45 or 58-60 psi of fuel pressure with a minimum flow rating of 57 GPH (215 liter/hr).
Answered by ☆ sales - May 17, 2022
A: The pump is capable of 90 + PSI. With the Pro-flow you will need a fuel pressure regulator to dial the pressure back.
Asked by Jamie Myers, May 17, 2022
Q: What is the max amps the fuel pump pulls?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 17, 2022
A: We estimate the draw to be between 15 and 20 amps. We recommend having and using a relay for the best clean power to the pump. It may be lower, but we would rather play it safe.
Asked by Rob Wallace, May 13, 2022
Q: What is the operating Ohm Range for the Sending Unit for this kit? My stock gauge works when it feels like it...
( Aftermarket Gauges list the Operating Range between 0 to 90, or 0 to 75 ohm ranges.) looking to replace my tank with this Unit.
Answered by ☆ sales - May 16, 2022
A: Our sending unit is the same range as stock, 10 full - 75 empty ohms.
Asked by Joe, May 4, 2022
Q: There are different types of stainless steel. some rust some don't. Magnets don't stick to the ones that don't. Does a magnet stick to this fuel tank?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 4, 2022
A: Magnets do not stick to our stainless fuel tanks.
Asked by Robert, February 24, 2022
Q: Can the skid plate be purchased separately
Answered by ☆ sales - February 25, 2022
A: Sure, it is part # 9670, but we do not offer it alone online. You will need to order over the phone.
Asked by chuck, August 26, 2020
Q: does this come with the fuel pump?
Answered by ☆ sales - August 27, 2020
A: No, #9662 does not come with a fuel pump. But, part # 9664, does come with a high pressure fuel pump.
Asked by ROBERT M OSORIO, May 24, 2020
Q: can you add this in with a pre existing working AUX tank?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 26, 2020
A: Yes, this M1A1 will take the place of the rear tank, and can be used with the Aux tank, just like stock.
Asked by Steve, April 17, 2020
Q: How much lower does this tank sit compared to the stock rear 77 tank with stock body mounts?
Answered by ☆ sales - April 21, 2020
A: Our best estimate is about 3 lower than stock tank, measuring at the flat portion of the frame down. The stock tank is approximately 10.5 deep overall, the M1A1 is 14. If you have or install a body lift, the M1A1 can be moved higher between the frame rails, netting more ground clearance.
Asked by Anonymous, January 29, 2020
Q: Can you tell me the overall width? My bronco has a bumper with a hitch thats mounted inside the frame rails I am concerned that if this tank is much wider than stock it won't clear my situation.
Thanks
Answered by ☆ sales - January 29, 2020
A: The width of the tank itself is about 22 9/16.
Asked by Andy, July 2, 2019
Q: Can you adjust the height to tuck it up high like the Sherman?
Answered by ☆ sales - July 11, 2019
A: The M1A1 tank mounts up against the bottom of the bed floor. Like the Sherman, it is adjustable from No body lift up to 3 of body lift.
