Full description
Next we add thread-in, quick-change cartridges to the end links. The cartridge design allows for greatly increased stud swing, more than enough for even the most demanding situations. The cartridge features oversized ends with grease slots below the taper. We have different cartridges with different tapers available for various knuckles and pitman arms. Our tie rod cartridges include the "Rock Lock" urethane disc designed to control rotational movement of the tie rod which is a common problem with stock and other aftermarket tie rods. It also acts as the seal for the cartridge keeping mud and debris on the outside.
You will never need to replace the whole tie rod again. If the cartridge ever wears out, you can swap in a new one without even needing to get an alignment. This is also a great feature if you decide to change to different steering knuckles or go to a tie rod overn knuckle system. All you need to replace is the cartridge to make it compatible with the new knuckles. The same thing applies to the pitman arm cartridge. If there was ever a need to switch pitman arms to a different size taper, again you would only need to change the cartridge.
Finally, the center links are 1 5/8" 4130 DOM stress relieved chromoly. The links have wrench flats machined onto them and use jam nuts for ease of adjustment. Forgings and center links are powder coated black for great looks and corrosion resistance.
NOTE: Most 76-79 F150s use a pitman arm that integrates the upper draglink ball joint into the pitman. You must change your pitman arm if that is the case. We have a limited supply of used stock pitman arms and new drop pitmans that will fix this incompatibility.

Q: I looking at adding the Clydesdale steering to my 79 Bronco. Planning on running 17 wheels. Not sure what backspacing/offset on the wheels would be needed. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!
Answered by ☆ sales - May 11, 2023
A: 17's should pose no issue. We normally use between a 3.5 and 4 backspacing.

Q: I have a stock 79 Bronco. Will this fit without any issues?
Answered by ☆ sales - February 12, 2021
A: We would not expect any issues. You do want to check your wheel clearances. The ends are much larger than stock.

Q: Doing a 4 inch lift on 1977 F150. Will this work for this application?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 19, 2020
A: Yes, but you may need a Bronco style pitman arm, if yours has a joint built into it. If that is the case, #792101 comes with a pitman arm.
