Additional Parts to Consider: Depending on the year of your Bronco and the specifics of your build, there are additional parts you may need to complete your wiring installation properly. While this harness covers the core of your electrical system, details can vary across model years and configurations. For example, 1971–77 Broncos will need a new glove box liner to accommodate the low-profile fuse box, and if you’re running dual fuel tanks or factory marker lights, additional harnesses and connectors will be required. Custom setups or aftermarket accessories might also call for extra clips, heat shrink, or switches to finish the job cleanly. Taking the time to plan your build ensures a smooth install and a reliable electrical system built to handle all your upgrades.
Some additional parts you may need for installation include:
-
Battery Cables - Check out our Extreme Battery Cables, a perfect add-on to your wire harness.
-
Glove Box Liner (No Hole) - The fuse box in this kit does not match the OEM fuse box, so if you have a hole in your glove box liner for the original fuse panel, you will need to purchase a new No Hole Glove Box Liner to complete the installation. If you have a Vintage Air kit, you will be able to use the liner that they include with their kit.
-
Ground Strap Kit - One of the most common electrical issues stems from insufficent grounds. We strongly recommended adding this kit for better reliability.
-
Brake Warning Light Socket - If you plan to use the factory brake pressure warning light on the dash, you will want to pick up this kit to make that work.
-
Washer Pump Connector (71-77 Bronco) - If you want to run the 1971-77 Bronco windshield washer reservoir, or our combo washer/coolant bottle, you will need this pigtail to plug into the pump.
-
Wiring Harness Clips - These wiring harness clips can come in handy for keeping your new harness install clean and tucked away.
-
Brake Light Switch (67-77 Bronco) - Brake light switch is not included in the kit because 1966 Broncos had a hydraulic type switch. Make sure you have the setup you need for your application.
-
Dash Hazard Switch (66–73 Bronco) - From 74-77, the Bronco came with a hazard in the turn signal switch. If you have a 66-73 Bronco, you will need the dash mounted hazard switch.
-
Fuel Sending Unit Connectors - If you are running factory fuel sending units, you will want to pick up one or two of these sending unit connectors (depending on whether you're running single or dual gas tanks).
-
OEM Heater Harness - You will want to reuse your factory heater harness as it is not included in this kit.
-
Marker Light Harnesses - If you have a 1970–77 Bronco, you will want to pick up a set of marker light wiring harnesses to connect into this wiring kit.
-
Miscellaneous Supplies - There are always small bits and pieces you will want to have around for your installation. While we try to provide everything, depending on your specific build, you will likely find yourself needing these items here and there. This could include heat shrink, connectors, tape, etc.
Simplify your install, improve your Bronco’s reliability, and get room for future upgrades with this all-in-one wiring solution. Whether you’re going back to stock or building a fully custom rig, this harness gives you the clean power foundation your Bronco deserves!
