Asked by Neil Tragni, April 10, 2022

Q: The shocks are listed as 5100, but then for the different lifts im assuming the model # is different by size. I originally had a 5.5 Superlift kit - Can you tell me if I would order your 5.5 kit and the lengths and model numbers for the front and rears provided in your 5.5 5100 kit. Thanks!!

A: You are correct. We have different length shocks, for the different lifts. If you have a 5.5 lift, or 5.5 kit shocks should work, as long as you have the stock shock mounts. Otherwise, we would measure from mount to mount, with the weight on the vehicle, for a resting height length. Also, take note of how each shock mounts, as there are eye/eye versions, and stud/eye. The kits for 5.5 uses #'s Bil88118 and Bil88123.

Q: It says not for suspension lift but it has an option for a suspension lift will it work with a 2-1/2 lift?

A: Originally we only offered for stock height. You can select for stock or for lift now, in the drop down menu. The verbiage is old.

Q: Can you please tell me how I can figure out my lift? I bought it lifted and the previous owner cannot be contacted.

A: Normally we go off of measuring the front. If you measure from the top of the round axle tube, up to the bottom of the frame, stock is about 7. Anything over 7, we usually account for the lift.

I ordered for my 3 1/2 suspension lift and received the correct parts in a timely manner. The install was pretty easy and came with all new bushings/ lock nut for the top of the front shocks-- All other mounting points, reuse the bolts and nuts. The boots were long and scrunched up after install on fronts and rears. Cut the cable tie and moved the boot up the shock. I have about 4 inches of the shock showing and the rest is boot. I could trim but waiting to see where they are gonna settle. I couldn't wait to drive and try it out. Wow! 4 WD 3 1/2 lifted 1973 Bronco with 35 x 12 tires comes down the road beautifully. So far, I like it a lot. I've also removed the stabilizer shock that is mounted between the frame and drag link on the front suspension. I have power steering, not off roading, or getting any bump steer. Really impressed how she drives and highly recommend.

A company that sends decals with their expensive parts that are well made get an A++ in my book.

Installed new Bilstein shocks on my stock suspension Bronco and best upgrade yet. Comfortable yet firm ride. Easy DIY upgrade that is well worth the money.
