Product Overview:

The trac bar riser is used for trac bar alignment. Proper alignment of the track bar is necessary to prevent or eliminate bump steer. The most common reason for using the riser instead of a drop bracket is when you are going to use tie rod on top of steering knuckle system. Tie rod under steering knuckle systems are stock on all 78-79 Broncos & F150s. The tie rod over system moves the tie rod to the top of the steering knuckle giving you about 3" of additional clearance for the tie rod. This simply makes it harder for you to bend the tie rod by driving into a rock or stump or whatever.

The track bar riser should not be used with less than a 4" suspension lift.

Bump Stop Consideration
Using the track bar riser may cause the riser to passenger side frame contact under certain conditions like jumping or hard off-road driving. The taller the suspension lift is, the less likely this will happen. Depending on how you plan to use your rig, you will want to consider relocating, adding or customizing front end to frame bump stops. WH does not offer a bump stop kit to work in conjunction with the track bar riser.

Asked by Brad Williams, November 4, 2023

Q: Will the 78-79 Trac bar riser bracket work with high steer

1 Answer

Answered by sales - November 13, 2023

A: We would not expect any issues. As long as your tie rod and drag link don't interfere, depending on your high steer setup. Usually there are no problems.

Asked by Andy, January 3, 2020

Q: I'm putting a full width/full size d44 under our 72 bronco, should I use this riser or the 66-77 bronco version?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - January 7, 2020

A: The full size version should fit the housing better.

I'm running a 78/79 HP Dana 44 with a WAH and cut down to early bronco width. I had to do a little trimming due to the addition of the WAH and the larger lower Coil retainers. Other than that the fit was great. Great product and this thing is massive.
