Asked by Daniel, March 17, 2016

Q: Do these axles use the a20 style bearings? Do they come with the stock style four bolt retaining plate, or do I have to buy some kind of aftermarket u shape style? How long are the axles? From what I have seen, they should both be about 31.843 inches long.

1 Answer

A: The axles use a set 20 tapered roller bearing. They do come with 4 bolt heavy duty retaining plates for a no hassle install. The axles are stock length, just under 32 long.

After deciding I needed new axles in my 1978 F100, I called Wild Horses. I have always received great products and advice here on my Bronco too. I had the older style axles, with the sealed ball bearings. They advised me that the more common set 20 axles would fit directly. So, I ordered them. I t only took me 1 hr start to finish to change the axles. There were no problems and was a perfect fit. Thanks so much Wild Horses!! Great service and products, as usual.
