RCV Dana 44 Front CV Axles | 76-77 Ford Bronco
The Strongest Dana 44 Axles You Can Get!
When it comes to strength, durability, and performance, RCV's Dana 44 CV Front Axle Set is unmatched. These axles are engineered for extreme off-road use, tested in-house and by third parties to ensure they outperform any other Dana 44 axle on the market.
Requires 30-spline Hubs or Drive Flanges: When upgrading to RCV's Dana 44 CV Axles with 30-spline outer shafts, you will need to update your locking hubs. There are essentially three options to achieve this. The best option if you plan to use the Bronco on and off-road is to install new 30-spline locking hubs like the Yukon Hardcore Locking Hubs we offer. Alternately, you can combine the RCV 300M Gear Upgrade Kit with a pair of standard 19-spline locking hubs. Just note this option is more likely to fail under extreme off-road use. The final option is to use RCV Drive Flanges. These flanges lock the axles in 100% of the time and therefore are ONLY recommended if your Bronco is a full-time off-roader.
Why Choose RCV Axles?
Unmatched Strength - Made from 4340 alloy steel, a heat-treated, low-alloy steel containing chromium, nickel, and molybdenum for superior toughness and durability. RCV Axles are twice as strong as OEM axles, designed to withstand hardcore off-road abuse.
CV vs. U-Joint: The RCV Advantage - RCV CV axles are nearly 2X stronger than traditional U-joint axles! U-joints wear out fast and require frequent greasing. RCV CV joints hold grease longer, needing only occasional maintenance. CV joints offer smoother operation with no binding at extreme angles.
Low Maintenance - Packed with grease, requiring only a couple of greasings per year—unlike U-joints that need greasing after every trip. Less wear and tear = longer lifespan and fewer breakdowns.
Made in the USA - RCV only uses the highest grade U.S. steel. Superior materials and craftsmanship mean you get what you pay for—and then some!
Perfect for Daily Drivers & Trail Rigs - Proven durability for daily drivers and hardcore off-roaders. Unlike high-end U-joint setups, RCV CV axles can handle long road trips without wearing out.
Features 30 spline Outer Axles: This increases the contact surface by 30% over stock axles for added strength. Due to the change in spline count, installing these axles requires upgraded locking hubs or drive flanges (slugs).
Unbeatable Warranty: "You break it, we replace it!" - RCV stands behind their products—if something fails, they’ll replace it, no questions asked!
NOTE: Due to the larger diameter of the CV joint, you must use the large opening knuckles like the 76-79 Ford disc brake knuckles. You will want to factor this in when doing a complete axle build. These axles can also be installed on 66-75 Ford Broncos, but will require updating to the 76-77 Bronco knuckle assembly.
Upgrade your 76-77 Ford Bronco with the strongest, smoothest-running Dana 44 CV axles on the market. Get the RCV advantage today!

Q: Rcv axles are 30spline outers?, wouldn't I need a 30spline spindle? Do you carrier this?
Answered by ☆ sales - September 5, 2024 23:47
A: Yes, the RCV axles are 30 splined, but they are sized to fit through the stock 76/77 spindles.

Q: Does this axle set work with the Yukon Hardcore Hubs?
Answered by ☆ Jeff Stanton - June 10, 2017
A: Yes, the Yukon Hardcore locking hubs will work with these axle shafts.
Answered by ☆ sales - August 2, 2016
A: The 8890 RCV's have 30 spline outers. If your Hardcore hubs are for 19 spline for stock axles, then no. You would need the locking hubs for 30 splined outers.
