Q: Will this kit close the gap between the liftgate & tailgate on a '72?

A: No, this one 9031 goes around the liftgate, and tailgate sides. Check #9038, liftgate lower seal. This seals the liftgate to the tailgate.

I purchased the upgraded seal and it's fantastic. The PO had replaced the original seal with a pretty poor weather strip. It wouldn't hold glue and was peeling all over. The new seal came and I am blown away. Very easy installation with no glue required. The seal slips over the lip and holds exceptionally well. I need to find door seals that fit this well!
