Q: Hi. do you have to cut the old skin off of the door to use this or does it just sit on top of the door

A: This is meant to replace the original door skin. You would need to remove the old skin first.

My passenger door skin arrived in perfect condition, the driver side (this one) did not. It had one of the lower corners rolled in which looked like it was damaged in shipping (no fault to Wildhorses it was packaged good). I was able to hammer it out and and do other minor tweaking then it was a perfect fit. Used panel bonding epoxy and a door skinning hammer. All body lines line up perfect.
