1967-75 Ford Bronco Drop Pitman Arm

After years of filing more pitman arm key ways than you can shake a stick at, we developed this fully indexed pitman arm. This custom drop pitman arm can be installed at 10-degree increments, helping you easily center your steering right to left. Designed specifically for Broncos with 3" of lift or more, this pitman arm ensures your drag link operates at the correct angle, reducing wear and tear on your ball joints and enhancing overall steering performance.

Unlike most pitman arms that can only be installed in one position on the steering box sector shaft, ours offers versatility and precision, making it easier to fine-tune your steering.

  • Fitment: 1967-75 Ford Bronco

  • Installation: Fully indexed, allowing installation at 10-degree increments

  • Recommended for: Broncos with 3" of lift or more for proper drag link angle

  • Steering Improvement: Helps maintain proper drag link geometry to prevent ball joint wear

  • Important Note: Not required for F-100 steering box conversions.

Technical Note:

There were four different pitman arms found on the Early Bronco. This Drop Pitman Arm replaces the two most common versions (67-75 Bronco Manual Steering Pitman Arm & 72-75 Bronco Power Steering Pitman Arm).

See below for clarification on the different pitman arms used on classic Broncos:

  • 1966 Ford Bronco Pitman Arm
    • Small taper at drag link end (0.700" at widest opening)
    • Narrow center section for use with Manual Steering only.

  • 1967-75 Ford Bronco Pitman Arm - Manual Steering
    • Large taper at drag link end (0.763" at widest opening)
    • Narrow center section for use with Manual Steering only.

  • 1972-75 Ford Bronco Pitman Arm - Power Steering
    • Large taper at drag link end (0.763" at widest opening)
    • Thick center section for use with Power Steering

  • 1976-77 Ford Bronco Pitman Arm
    • Small taper at drag link end (0.700" at widest opening - same as 1966)
    • Thick center section for use with Power Steering

Q: My Bronco has an aftermarket power steering box put on by the previous owner. It does not look like a Ford steering box and the pump looks like the GM ham can pump. Would this arm fit the aftermarket conversion steering box?

A: The pitman arm will fit most Bronco conversion boxes. You could also give us a call or email some pictures of your steering box, and we can try to determine what you have, and better say.

I was having Bump Steer issues. I contacted the Wild Horses team, sent photos and the Technical crew diagnosed the issue and prescribed a solution. My new drop pitman arm, the Trac Bar Riser, and the adjustable Trac bar work well together. Now when the old Bronco hops it travels on a straight forward line.

Products were heavier duty than anticipated. The package arrived timely enough. I wish there was a lower drop on the pitman arm but the quality is good. The guys at wild Broncos were awesome. Hands down, best customer service anywhere.

Nice heavy duty piece. The non-indexing splines allowed the steering box to be centered with a 6" lift
