66-75 Ford Bronco Heavy Duty Rear Axles: 31 & 35 Spline

Upgrade your 66-75 Ford Bronco with our Heavy Duty Rear Axles, available in 31 or 35 spline options (requires matching differential). Designed for extreme durability and easy installation, these axles come fully assembled and ready to install right out of the box.

Early Bronco Heavy Duty Rear Axle Features:

  • Fully Assembled: Includes studs, bearings, and retainers already pressed in. Just pull them out of the box and install.

  • High Strength: Made from 1541-H alloy for superior strength and durability.

  • Spline Options: Choose between 31 or 35 spline axles to suit your specific needs.

Specifications:

  • Compatibility: Fits 1966-75 Bronco with small bearing, 10" x 2 1/2" brake drum.

  • Material: 1541-H alloy for extreme durability.

  • Spline Options: Available in 31 or 35 spline.

  • Bearings: Uses a conversion bearing for small bearing housings, allowing future upgrades to large tapered roller bearings if needed.

Important Notes:

  • 35 Spline Axles are Special Order & Non-Returnable

  • Bearing Compatibility: Small bearing axles are not available with tapered-roller bearing. A conversion bearing is used to fit 31 spline in the small bearing housing.

  • Future Upgrades: For long-term benefits, consider upgrading to a large bearing housing and brakes. With this setup, you can later swap the bearings to large tapered roller bearings as long as you also upgrade your housing and brakes at the same time.

  • Seal Recommendation: Remove existing axle seals from your housing ends. The conversion bearing is sealed and includes an outer o-ring seal, but we still recommend purchasing additional housing seals (Part #8632) for optimal performance.

Upgrade your 66-75 Ford Bronco with our Heavy Duty Rear Axles for enhanced performance and reliability. Order now for a quick and easy installation, and enjoy the benefits of stronger, more durable axles on your off-road adventures!

Excellent axles for a small bearing 9".

When I upgraded from the stock 28 spline carrier to an ARB 31 spline carrier, I purchased these from WH. I have a small bearing axle which uses the "conversion bearing" instead of the tapered-roller. The Small bearing conversion bearing uses an O-ring which eliminates the need for an outer seal. I've had 2 abusive wheeling seasons on these and they haven't given me a problem yet.
